PREVIOUS MEETINGS FOR 2021

Our March meeting was well attended, regular and new participants welcomed Ms Claire Galvin as our guest speaker.  Claire is from Penrith City Council, and her role includes the development of the Disability Inclusion Plan for the Penrith District.  Claire walked us through the existing Plan, and talked about the new ideas for the next plan, currently in the planning stage.  It’s an important  initiative, adopted by many Councils in NSW, to improve safety and accessibility for our residents.

Ms Galvin has kindly offered to return later in 2021 to address our Group again.  Thank you Claire

Hi friends.
Our February group meeting was very.....calm and supportive. Parkinson's specialist counsellors Shushann and Viviem had some great insights to help us cope with our diagnosis, and an exercise to do when feeling anxious, and it worked so well. Some of us were nearly nodding off.
Thankyou Shushann and Viviem for being our guests for February.
Viv. 🤗
AT THE FIRST MEETING FOR 2021, WE WELCOMED MISS KATE BERWICK AS OUR GUEST SPEAKER.
KATE, AND HER YEAR 10  CLASSMATES AT PENRITH ANGLICAN COLLEGE, LOBBIED FOR THE 2020
RECIPIENT OF THE SCHOOLS FUNDRAISING DRIVE TO BE PARKINSON’S NSW. THEY RAISED OVER $7000.
THIS IS AN EXTRAORDINARY EFFORT WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE RESTRICTIONS OF COVID-19 DURING
ALMOST THE ENTIRE YEAR.
KATE’S PRESENTATION SHOWED PICTURES OF SOME OF THE FUNDRAISING EVENTS AT THE SCHOOL, AND ALSO
INCLUDED A FEW LOVELY PICTURES OF THE GALA BALL, WHICH WAS ALSO
ATTENDED BY THE CEO OF PARKINSON’S NSW, JO-ANN REEVES, WHO GRATEFULLY ACCEPTED THE
DONATION.
OUR GROUP ENJOYED KATE’S PRESENTATION ENORMOUSLY, AND WE COMMEND HER FUNDRAISING
EXPERTISE,  AND THE WARMTH AND CONFIDENCE SHE DISPLAYED.

THANKS KATE,

VIVIENNE, TERRY AND GLENN,
